industry. We have a general corporate/litigation practice
that focuses on the unique needs of our healthcare clients.
We are recruiting a Healthcare
Associate with 2-5 years of corporate transactional experience,
strong academic credentials (top 25% or law review) and an
interest in healthcare law. This position is in our New
York office. Applicants must be licensed to practice law
in New York State. Licensure in New Jersey and/or
Connecticut is a plus. Our
main office is in Great Neck, NY and we have offices in
Hackensack, NJ and Stamford, CT. GW is a Manhattan style
law firm located in Long Island which provides a professional,
nurturing and friendly office environment. The Firm's
compensation package is competitive with similarly sized New
York and Long Island law firms. Our Great Neck office is
convenient by car to all boroughs and is a 35 minute ride from
Penn Station on the Long Island Rail Road. Our office is

MENTORING PROGRAM
Garfunkel Wild, P.C. (“GW”) recognizes that an
essential component of the foundation for attorney development
is an effective mentoring program. Dedicated to the long-term
personal and professional growth of its associates, and with the
objective of creating a work environment that promotes the
quality performance of legal services, GW has created a formal
and comprehensive mentoring program (the “Program”).
Associates fresh from law school and even more experienced
lateral hires are assigned a mentor from among the many
experienced attorneys at GW. Mentors assist associates through
the early stages of their tenure at GW, meeting regularly in
order to ensure that associates become fully adapted to GW and
its culture, as well as the high standards a GW attorney is
expected to meet and the resources available at GW. The Program
eases the associates’ transition to legal practice and life at
GW and fosters a greater personal connection between GW and
its individual attorneys, which in turn enhances career
satisfaction and associate loyalty.
The Program is meant to supplement, not supplant, other
activities of GW dedicated to the development of its
associates. In addition to informal mentoring that occurs
through daily interactions among GW attorneys, training is also
provided through in-house seminars, departmental meetings,
continuing legal education programs paid for by GW and careful
supervision by our experienced attorneys. GW also has a program
by which attorneys “shadow” experienced attorneys at a
work-related events such hearings and depositions, and a
well-structured evaluation program for advising associates
annually of their progress. |
