announce that partner/director Jeffrey S. Brown has been
selected for inclusion in the 2012 New Jersey Super
Lawyers for the third consecutive year. Partner
Stacey L. Gulick and Associate Kimberly Kempton-Serra
are featured under “Rising Stars.” This is the second
consecutive listing for Ms. Kempton-Serra. Only five

Jeffrey S. Brown,
Partner/Director of the firm’s Hackensack, NJ, office
and member of the Health Care, HIPAA Compliance,
Insurance Regulatory and Litigation & Arbitration
Practice Groups, specializes in healthcare and hospital
law. He represents various hospitals, long-term care
facilities, physicians’ practices and other health
care-related clients. A frequent speaker on health care
issues, he has lectured at Seton Hall University School
of Law (where he serves on the Advisory Board of the
Health Law & Policy Program), as well as before the New
Jersey Association of Health Care Facilities, Bergen
County Medical Society, Bergen County Bar Association,
and more.
Stacey L. Gulick, a
GW Partner, is a member of the Health Care, HIPAA
Compliance, Health Care Information and Technology, and
Compliance and White Collar Crime Defense Practice
Groups. Ms. Gulick has extensive experience in health
care administration, having worked as a medical staff
coordinator, risk manager and compliance officer for
several years prior to becoming an attorney. She has
published a number of articles relating to electronic
communication and risks associated with social media in
healthcare in a number of professional publications,
including Corporate Compliance Insights, New Jersey
Law Journal, Journal of American College of Radiology,
and more.
Kimberly Kempton-Serra,
a GW Associate and member of the Business and Health
Care Practice Groups, advises clients on a host of
health care and general commercial matters. These
include business structuring, federal and state law
regulatory compliance, tax issues, mergers, sales and
acquisitions of various health care entities, technology
contracts and employment and equity ownership agreements
for practices and health care facilities. She is an
Adjunct Professor in the MSJ Program at Seton Hall
University School of Law, where she teaches Health Law.
She has authored several publications relating to
corporate health care matters, including Tax Principles
Concerning Buy-Outs and Related Post-Withdrawal
Compensation Issues, Second Edition Representing
Physicians Handbook, Chapter 6, American Health Lawyers
Association, November 2009.
