As ‘50 Around 50’ Awardee
Great Neck, NY, October 7, 2011. Garfunkel Wild,
P.C. (GW) is pleased to announce that partner/director
Hayden S. Wool has been selected by Long Island Business
News (LIBN) to the “50 Around 50” Class of 2011. An
awards dinner will take place at the Crest Hollow County
Club on Thursday, October 20, to celebrate those
individuals and firms selected.
In its second year, the LIBN awards program recognizes
dynamic professional men and women who are dedicated to
the success of companies and organizations on Long
Island, as well as to the well-being of the local
communities throughout Nassau and Suffolk. Awardees are
selected by a panel of business and community leaders
based on the nominee’s business acumen and community
involvement.
A member of the firm’s Health Care, Business and
Compliance and White Collar Defense Practice Groups,
Wool advises clients on a variety of business,
regulatory and transactional issues. His practice
includes the structuring of hospital physician
relationships and physician group relationships,
reviewing the structure of business transactions as to
compliance with federal and state regulatory matters, as
well as issues regarding proper reimbursement for health
care activities. He has an expertise in the application
of federal and state Stark laws, anti-kickback laws,
fee-splitting laws and professional misconduct laws, as
well as related rules and regulations, and has written
numerous articles on these and other related topics for
professional publications.
A resident of Nassau County for some 25 years, he has
also given generously of his time throughout the years
to support a host of community initiatives. These
include serving as Co-President and as a member of the
Board of Directors of the South Baldwin Jewish Center
for several years, as well as serving as Chairman,
President and Board member of the Oakwood Beach
Association.
Wool is a member of the American Health Lawyers
Association, the Healthcare Financial Management
Association, the Health Care Compliance Association and
the Medical Group Management Association. He was
featured in Long Island Business News’ “Who’s Who in
Corporate Law” in June 2011. He holds a JD from Albany
Law School of Union University and a BS from Alfred
University.
