Biography
For more than twenty-three years, Patrick J. Monahan
II has represented hospitals, businesses, and other
clients in a wide variety of matters involving corporate
and regulatory compliance, government relations, and
litigation. He joined the firm after serving as General
Counsel and Vice President for the Connecticut Hospital
Association, where he was responsible for legal,
advocacy, and compliance matters for the Association and
its affiliated companies, and represented Connecticut’s
not-for-profit hospitals in a variety of legal and
legislative proceedings.
Prior to working at CHA, Mr. Monahan was a partner in
the litigation department of a large Connecticut law
firm for ten years. In addition to his depth of
experience representing hospitals, physicians and other
healthcare providers in litigation, regulatory, and
business matters, he has extensive experience
representing clients in other industries in a wide
variety of litigation, including product liability and
product recall, unfair trade practices, and other
commercial disputes.
Mr. Monahan is a frequent guest speaker and panelist on
topics related to legal liability, privacy, healthcare
policy, and dispute resolution. He is a member of the
American Health Lawyers Association and the Connecticut
Health Lawyers Association. He also is a Fellow of the
Connecticut Bar Foundation.
