Biography
Sean P. Leyden, a Partner at Garfunkel Wild, P.C., is
Co-Chair of the firm’s Finance and Real Estate
Practice Group.
Mr. Leyden joined the firm in 2003
and his practice focuses on
real estate and corporate transactions, as well as in
representing tax-exempt organizations, hospitals,
physicians, physician groups and other health care
providers.
Mr. Leyden
has extensive experience in commercial leasing
(representing both landlords and tenants); commercial real estate financing
(representing both borrowers and lenders), including fee
and leasehold financing, permanent and construction
financing and mezzanine financing; the purchase and sale
of commercial real property nationwide, including
hospital, medical
office, residential and commercial buildings and vacant
land for development; and the purchase and sale of
residential property (including cooperative and
condominium apartments).
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Leyden was an associate
for six years in the commercial real estate department
of Bingham McCutchen LLP’s New York City office.
Before embarking on his legal career, Mr. Leyden was an
Assistant Vice President in the Credit and Risk
Management Department at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he
oversaw the company’s counterparty trading risk for
fixed income products.
Mr. Leyden received his B.S. from Fairfield University
in 1990 and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1995.
