Biography
Robert Del Giorno is an associate at Garfunkel Wild,
P.C., which he joined in April 2008. He is a member of
the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration, and Compliance
and White Collar Defense Groups, which handle a broad
array of civil, regulatory and criminal litigation
matters.
Mr. Del Giorno’s practice
includes representation of both individuals and
organizations in civil litigations and in connection
with state and federal criminal investigations or
prosecutions. He has particular expertise in complex
litigations, white collar criminal matters, and other
criminal matters. Mr. Del Giorno has defended local New
York hospitals in complex, multi-million dollar False
Claims Act cases in the Federal Courts of New York. In
addition, Mr. Del Giorno has experience successfully
defending hospitals in litigation relating to hospital
peer review matters.
Prior to
joining the firm, Mr. Del Giorno served as an Assistant
District Attorney in the Nassau County District
Attorney’s Office gaining significant trial experience.
As a member of the Special Victims Bureau, he tried
numerous cases involving victims of sex crimes and
domestic violence. Before joining the District
Attorney’s Office, Mr. Del Giorno was a litigation
associate with the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP
in New York City, where he focused on commercial
litigation and criminal defense matters.
Mr. Del Giorno attended
Fairfield University where he graduated in 1998 with a
B.A. in Economics. He received his law degree from St.
John's University School of Law, cum laude, in 2002
where he served as the Managing Editor of the St. John’s
Journal of Legal Commentary.
